In the current system, voters end up having to choose between voting for the party we would have liked/wanted most and the top two (in our constituency) historically - neither feels good as you never feel you made a difference in both the battle between the top two and the battle between the rest who are trying to become bigger. Therefore I want you to think about this alternative: Each voter votes on four parts of the ballot paper: parts 1 - 3 are the top three parties from last time A versus B; A vs C; B vs C. This way the winner will have beaten both main opponents by an absolute majority. And all other (non top-three) parties are to be listed with a number code on the wall and the voter writes the number of his/her preferred one… [cont.]
